Taxing Times
Bureaucrats all over the world are the same! Left to themselves, they would tax anything they can lay their hands on. Apparently some bureaucrats in Brussels suddenly woke up to the fact that digital still cameras could also take video clips. Why not tax them as camcorders, they reasoned? What wasn’t immediately apparent was that camcorders suffered an import duty of 12.5% that digital still cameras didn’t. Obviously, the imaging industry is up in arms. Being Europe, the European Commission has decided to consult industry before going ahead.
Trust I am not giving the Revenue authorities of other countries some naughty thoughts.
